General Information:​

Game Format: Swiss System

USCF Membership: Current USCF membership required for all sections, except Novice sections

All sections will play 4 games, except for the Championship section (3 games)

Time control:

– Elementary, Booster, Advanced – G/25;d5

– Championship – G/45;d5

Registration and Entry fee: $40 by May 30, 2026, 11:59 PM Eastern Time, $50 after.

Check-in starts at 8:30 AM. Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the event to check-in.

Equipment: Chess sets, clocks, and notation sheets provided​

All children must be chaperoned by an adult. Entrance to the event will be through the school courtyard on 30th avenue at 29th street.

Parents are expected to monitor their children while they are waiting for their games to begin.  We suggest bringing books or quiet games to play, and encourage quiet discussion in the waiting area in between turns.  Safety is paramount and students will be expected to sit quietly.  There can be no loud games or running in the waiting area or school hallways.

Tournament Sections:​

NOVICE 1 (PreK-1) – Unrated (will not be USCF rated). No clock and notation (4 rounds)

– Awards/Prizes: Trophies for top 6. Medals for all other players.​

NOVICE 2 (Grades 2-5) – Unrated (will not be USCF rated). No clock and notation (4 rounds)

– Awards/Prizes: Trophies for top 6. Medals for all other players with 2 points and up.​

ELEMENTARY (K-6) – USCF 400 and under G/25;d5 (4 rounds)

– Awards/Prizes: Trophies for top 6. Medals for all other players with 2 points and up.​

BOOSTER (K-12) – USCF 800 and under G/25;d5 (4 rounds)

– Awards/Prizes: Trophies for top 6. Medals for all other players with 2 points and up.​

​ADVANCED (K-12) – USCF 1200 and under G/25;d5 (4 rounds)

– Awards/Prizes: Trophies for top 6. Medals for all other players with 2 points and up.​

**QUADS** CHAMPIONSHIP (K-12) – USCF 1200 and up G/45;d5 (3 rounds)

– Awards/Prizes: $50 for player with perfect score 3/3

Game Schedule and Awarding

Round 1 – 9:00 – 10:00 AM

Round 2 – 10:15 -11:15 AM

Round 3 – 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM

Round 4 – 12:45 – 1:45 PM

Awards Ceremony – To be held immediately after the section concludes

Tiebreak System

USCF standard tiebreak below will be used in this tournament, in order of priority:

– Modified Median, Solkoff, Cumulative Score, Cumulative Scores of Opposition
