Date/Time: Sat, April 4, 2026 DAY 2, Connecticut Chess Festival; Round 1 at 11 AM, then ASAP.
Online registration thru April 3, then on-site (see deadlines below). All states welcome!
Location: Trinity College, Athletic Center, 300 Summit Street, Hartford, CT 06106
Rounds/TC/Sec/Byes: Rapid: 5 Rounds SS, G/10+3. USCF Rated. Round 1 @ 11 AM, then ASAP
Blitz: 5 double-Rounds SS, G/3+2. USCF Rated. Round 1 @ 2:30 PM, then ASAP
Bullet: 5 double-Rounds SS, G/1+2. Not ratable. Round 1 @ 5:30 PM, then ASAP.
Open, Amateur (U1800) & Novice (U1300); no ½ point byes, except at TD discretion.
Ratings/Pairings: Regular ratings used for sections, pairings and prizes. TD’s discretion applied to pairings
to avoid identical pairings event-to-event and accommodate onsite registrants.
Prizes: Open: Quick: $200-150-100; Blitz: $200-150-100; Bullet: $200-150-100; Overall Bonus*:
$200 to Overall Champion; $150 to Top U2200; $100 each to Top U2000, U1800, U1600.
Champion Trophies: Top Connecticut Rapid, Blitz, Bullet and Overall Speed. Champion
Plaques: Top Senior, Woman, Collegiate, High, Middle and Elementary School players.
Amateur: Trophies to Top 3 players per event, and Top 3 overall plus $100 bonus to Top
Overall Amateur, and $50 bonus to Top in each event. Novice: Trophies to Top 3 players
per event, and Top 3 overall plus $100 bonus to Top Overall Novice, and $50 bonus to Top
in each event. (Overall score: combined points, Rapid is 2 points/game.) Prizes via PayPal.
Grand Prix: 50 Enhanced CSCA Grand Prix Points in Open as part of Overall Prizes.
Entry Fee: Register online by 4/3, then on-site; 3 events: $60 by 3/31; $80 by 4/2; $110 by 4/3;
2 events: $55/$70/$90; 1 event: $35/$45/$60; onsite by 10:30a/2p/4p, exact cash, add $10.
Amateur/Novice: $10 less. GM/IM free, after 3/31 from prize. CSCA standard discounts.
Notes: [1] Connecticut player: (a) any player whose state is designated Connecticut (“CT”) with U.S. Chess, or (b) any player
who (i) resides, (ii) works or (iii) attends school in the state of Connecticut. [2] Prizes & tax requirements. All prizes are paid

Refunds/Cancellation Policy: To withdraw and request a refund, players MUST email their request to
events.CSCA@gmail.com no later than Apr 1 at 11:59 PM. Refund requests not emailed or received after deadline, will not be
honored. Refunds are subject to $20 administrative fee. [4] Unauthorized solicitation is prohibited. CSCA Promotion Policy
