Venue: Gantry View School (5-36 50th Ave, Long Island City, NY 11101)

USCF Membership: Current USCF membership required for all sections, except Novice (I and II)

Check-in starts at 8:30 AM. Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the event to check-in.

Equipment: Chess sets, chess clocks, and notation sheets provided

All participants under 18 must be chaperoned by an adult or guardian. If you want to drop off, please email empire.chess.tournament@gmail.com

To ensure a safe and focused environment, we ask that waiting children engage in quiet activities. Loud games and running in the hallways or waiting areas are prohibited.

NOVICE 1 (PreK-1) – Unrated (will not be USCF rated). No clock and notation (4 rounds)

ADVANCED (K-12) – USCF 1200 and under (USCF Rated), G/40;d5 (3 rounds)

Awards/Prizes: Trophies for top 3. Medals for all other players with 2 points and up.

CHAMPIONSHIP (K-12) – USCF 1200+ (USCF Rated), G/45;d5 (3 rounds)

Awards/Prizes: Trophies for top 3. $150 for 1st Place, $80 for 2nd, $50 for 3rd Place. (B/14 Entries)

Half point byes may be requested as follows:

All half-point bye requests must be made prior to round 2 pairings.

Half-point bye requests cannot be changed once round 2 is paired.
