EVENT OVERVIEW

Event Overview

The Chess Warriors Academy proudly presents a USCF-rated scholastic chess tournament for players of all skill levels, along with a non-rated adult side event.

Check-in: 9:00 AM – 9:20 AM
Round 1 Starts: 9:30 AM sharp

All players must be checked in before the start of Round 1.
Chess sets and clocks will be provided.

Format

  • 5-Round Swiss
  • No elimination — all players play all rounds
  • One (1) half-point bye allowed if requested before Round 1
  • Pairings conducted using standard USCF Swiss pairing rules

 

Time Control

  • G/30, d5 (30 minutes per player with a 5-second delay)
  • USCF Regular rating for all rated sections

 

Sections Offered

Scholastic Rated Sections (K–12)

  • K-12 Open
  • K-12 U900
  • K-12 U600

Scholastic Non-Rated Sections

  • K-3 Non-Rated
  • Grades 4–8 Non-Rated

Adult Side Event

  • Adults 40+ NON-Rated (Side Event)
    • Conducted separately from scholastic sections
    • Does not affect scholastic awards

 

USCF Membership

  • USCF membership is required for all rated sections
  • Non-rated sections do not require USCF membership
  • Players must have an active USCF membership by the start of Round 1

 

Awards

(Sections might be added/merged based on number of registrations)

  • Trophies to Top 3 finishers in each section
  • Participation medals for all players
