DESCRIPTION:https://njscf.org/2026-nj-high-school-championships/ \n  \n\nFEB 28 & MAR 1\, 2026 — NEW JERSEY HIGH SCHOOL CHAMPIONSHIP\n5SS • G/60 d5\nLOCATION \n\n\n\nUnion County Vocational Technical School\n1776 Raritan Rd.\, Scotch Plains\, NJ 07076\nNOTE:\nUCVTS is located near the Police Academy on the far side of the campus\n  \nFORMAT \n\n\n\n\nINDIVIDUAL / TEAM:\nstudents will play as individuals in three sections.\n1) VARSITY BRACKET (Grades 9–12) \n\n\nThe 5 highest rated players from the same school constitute a team\nSecond Varsity team (6th–10th rated players) permitted\nIndividuals and schools with fewer than 5 players allowed\nMinimum 2 players per school for team eligibility\nTrophies: Top 5 schools; Top 10 individuals\n\n\n  \n2) JUNIOR VARSITY BRACKET (Grades 9–12) \n\n\nThe 4 highest rated players from the same school constitute a team\nSecond JV team (5th–8th rated players) permitted\nIndividuals and schools with fewer than 4 players allowed\nMinimum 2 players per school for team eligibility\nTrophies: Top 5 schools; Top 10 individuals\n\n\nNOTE:\nSchools with multiple teams may have players face each other. Players from the same team will not.\n  \n\n3) BOOSTER (Grades K–12)\nOpen to all ages.\n\nBooster A: USCF 1000+\nBooster B: Under USCF 1000\n\nTrophies to top 10 individuals in each sub-section\n  \n\n\n\n\nALL SECTIONS\n\nUSCF membership required\n\nTeams (5 players): $200\nTeams (4 players): $160\nSmaller teams & individuals: $40 per player\n\n\n  \n\nREGISTER ONLINE\n \nOnline registration closes at 9:00 PM on 2/26/26\nAfterward: On-site only • $50 per player • ½ point bye for Round 1\n  \n\n\nBYES\nByes may be requested for any round.
