All sections are US Chess rated\, and the March 2026 US Chess rating supplement will be used for pairings and prizes. \nWinners of the Championship sections will earn official Texas State Champion titles. The entry fee is $20. Rated. \nTexas Scholastic Bughouse Championship: March 7th 8:00pm. $40 per team. \nTexas Scholastic Puzzles Championship: TBD. The entry fee is $20.  \n  \nTCA Junior Chess Meeting: This is a business meeting where members will hear reports from officers and vote on important business affecting the Association. All TCA members who are Texas residents and at least 16 years of age are voting members. Everyone is welcome to attend. An agenda will be posted on the TCA website at least two weeks in advance. \n  \nOther Rules and Information\nChess sets provided; bring your own clock \nNotation required except for K-1 and Primary JV. Time deduction will be ⅓ of your time for no notation. Must use tournament provided notation. \nFood and drinks are not allowed in the playing hall. Water is the only exception. \nPlayers may request up to two half-point byes before the end of Round 3.
