DESCRIPTION:https://chessacademy.com/products/maryland-state-girls-chess-championship-haring-qualifier \n\n2026 Maryland State Girls Championship and Haring Qualifier 3/14\n\n\n\n\nRegular price$57.00 USD\n\n\n\n\n\nThe official MD State Girls Championship Tournament!\nSee who’s playing (coming in February)\nSilver Knights Chess Academy in partnership with the Maryland Chess Association\nBender JCC of Greater Washington\, 6125 Montrose Rd\, Rockville\, MD 20852 \nMarch 14th\, 2026 \n2 sections for different skill levels – please read descriptions closely to make sure you sign up for the correct section!  The Championship section is only open to girls who live in or attend school in MD\, the under 800 section is open to girls from any state. \nK-12 Championship\nThe winner of this section is the official MD Girls Champion\, and will be invited to the Haring Tournament of Champions! Rounds at 9:00am\, 10:45am\, 12:30pm\, and 2:15pm\, with an awards ceremony starting at approximately 3:45pm.  The time control is game in 45 minutes with a 5 second delay. The winner (by tiebreak*\, if necessary) qualifies for the Haring. Players must be girls who live in or attend school in MD\, are in grades K-12 and are rated at least 750 to participate. \nK-12 U-800\nRounds at 9:00am\, 10:45am\, 12:30pm\, and 2:15pm\, with an awards ceremony starting at approximately 3:45pm.  The time control is game in 45 minutes with a 5 second delay.  Players must be girls who are rated under 800 to participate. \nOther Information\n* All sections are non-elimination\, and all players participate in all rounds\n* This tournament is US Chess rated!  If you have a US Chess ID# and membership\, please include it.  If you don’t have one\, we will purchase it for you ($24 value!).  If you’re not sure what your ID# is you can look it up here\n* Trophies to the top players in each section\n* Tiebreak order: Modified Median\, Solkoff\, Cumulative\, & Cumulative of Opposition.  If those four are tied a coin toss will be used as a fifth and final tie break. \nOnline registration is $57 before noon on Tuesday\, 2/24.  From then until 3/10 at noon online registration is $67.  From then until 8:30am on the day of the tournament\, registration is $77.
