All other awards can be picked up at the Early Trophy Pickup Table\, which will be located in the lobby of room W-190. \nRATINGS USED:\nFor pairing purposes we will be using the April rating supplement. Adjusted ratings may be used in accordance with the USCF National Scholastic Chess Tournament Regulations. \nPlayers in all sections are required to disclose at the time of registration whether they have one or more ratings in other OTB rating system(s). Other OTB rating systems include\, but are not limited to\, FIDE\, foreign systems\, the Northwest Scholastic Rating System (NWSRS)\, and ChessXpress (CXR). \nThe Tournament Review Group (defined in the Scholastic Regulations) reviews every entry to this tournament\, and makes decisions about whether to assign a rating based on alternate rating data found for a player. Players on the report may have been assigned ratings that are different from their US Chess regular rating in the rating supplement being used for the tournament. The most current version of the report is published here for transparency. \n\nRATING REVIEW REPORT\n\n  \nBYES:\nA single half-point bye is available for any round\, except the last round. The bye may be requested online by 11 pm on the day before the tournament starts. On-site requests have a deadline for round 1 of 2-hours before the scheduled start time. For all later rounds the deadline is 2-hours before the scheduled start for Round 2. The cell phone shall remain inside the box until the completion of the player’s game. \nA player who needs to make a call or text while their game is still being played shall notify a Tournament Director (TD). The player may retrieve their cell phone from the box only after being given permission and may use it only while under the supervision of a TD. DESCRIPTION:https://littlehouseofchess.org/10th-annual-magnus-league/\n\n2025-2026: Oct 5\, Nov 9\, Dec 7\, Jan 25\, Feb 22\, Mar 13\, Apr 19\n\nWe are open to players in Grades 7-12 (who are also born after 4/21/2005).\nPlayers can play as individuals as well as part of a school team.\nWe have both individual and team prizes! \nWe also have Mixed Doubles Team Bonus Prizes! \n\nMixed Doubles teams are two players\, one male\, one female (they can be from any sections and any schools)\, with an average team rating Under 2200 at signup deadline.  Players must sign up by January 28th for Mixed Doubles.\n We have four separate sections.\n       1. Varsity\, for players rated 1800 and above (at match date or within the prior 12 months\, and invitees);\n  2. Junior-Varsity\, for players whose Official Rating is Under 2000 at match date or Unrateds;\n       3. Novice\, for players whose Official Rating is Under 1400 at match date or Unrateds;\n       4. Now hosted at Glen Rock\, this tournament is an exciting opportunity for newer players to have fun and put their abilities to the test against opponents of similar skill and age\, and for more experienced players rated Under 1600 to compete for large cash prizes. This tournament is perfect for both unrated players who are playing against opponents of a similar skill level\, and for more experienced players wanting to win larger cash prizes than our usual Glen Rock Quads. \nLocation: 354 Rock Rd\, Glen Rock\, NJ 07452 \nOur grassroots tournament consists of four general sections: two unrated and two rated. Our U1600 is run on a separate day. \nEach player is guaranteed four matches and trophies are awarded to top players at our grassroots competition! \nEarly bird registration expires the Sunday before each tournament. Normal registration closes 12pm on the day of the tournament. \nThe tournament will start at 2pm for all sections and will finish no later than 7pm. Although the rated sections have specified round times\, we reserve the right to start a section early if all games in a round finish earlier than anticipated. \nCheck in for all sections is between 1:45pm and 1:55pm. \nAll players in our USCF rated sections are required to notate. \nFor our Grassroots compeition only\, in addition to individual team prizes\, we are giving out team prizes to the three best schools in the competition! Each school can register as many players as they wish in the tournament. However\, only the three highest scoring players will have their scores counted towards their school total. Note\, only academic institutions\, not chess schools\, can qualify for the prize. \nAll Rounds start at 2pm. Subsequent rounds will take place as soon as each game in the section finishes.
