Depending on the number of participants\, we organize both rated and unrated events\, giving players of all levels the chance to compete and grow.  \nEach tournament is a series of 3 games (G25/D5) and is limited to about 40 players to ensure a comfortable\, organized\, and enjoyable experience for everyone. Students are also divided into 4 sections based on USCF rating: Beginner (Unrated)\, Novice (Under 600)\, Reserve (Under 1000)\, and Advanced (Under 1600).  \nOur main goal is to strengthen our young players\, build confidence\, and provide local tournament opportunities right here in Brooklyn — so families don’t have to travel to other boroughs to enjoy quality chess events. \nThrough these events\, we aim to create a fun\, friendly\, and educational atmosphere where every child feels welcome and proud to play.

Now hosted at Glen Rock\, this tournament is an exciting opportunity for newer players to have fun and put their abilities to the test against opponents of similar skill and age\, and for more experienced players rated Under 1600 to compete for large cash prizes. This tournament is perfect for both unrated players who are playing against opponents of a similar skill level\, and for more experienced players wanting to win larger cash prizes than our usual Glen Rock Quads. \nLocation: 354 Rock Rd\, Glen Rock\, NJ 07452 \nOur grassroots tournament consists of four general sections: two unrated and two rated. Our U1600 is run on a separate day. \nEach player is guaranteed four matches and trophies are awarded to top players at our grassroots competition! \nEarly bird registration expires the Sunday before each tournament. Normal registration closes 12pm on the day of the tournament. \nThe tournament will start at 2pm for all sections and will finish no later than 7pm. Each school can register as many players as they wish in the tournament. However\, only the three highest scoring players will have their scores counted towards their school total. Note\, only academic institutions\, not chess schools\, can qualify for the prize. \nAll Rounds start at 2pm.
